Now, saying all that - we really didn't know what to expect! We knew it would be a major issue getting Hudson in a costume - that would be the reason I bought a pair of skeleton pajamas. The closer to "clothes" that it was - the easier it would be on him to put them on. {Needless to say - smart move!} He did have an issue with wearing the shirt. But when he knew he was going on a wagon ride and he didn't have to wear a jacket IF he wore the "ske-wa-ton" shirt, he was good to go!
Hudson not really knowing what the heck is about to happen?It did NOT take him long to figure out that this is the best day of the year! Thank the Lord for our neighbor Connor - he helped Hudson go to each house and ring the door bells! It was absolutely the sweetest thing to hear Hudson say {very clearly} "Trick-or-Treat" and after they would drop the candy in his bag "Thank you! Happy How-wo-ween!" We didn't tell him to say that - he just did on his own. Riot!
We had to stop Hudson from going into some folk's houses. If they didn't come to the door with treats in hand, he would try to follow them in the house when they went to get their treat bowl. OR he really like dropping his "own" candy in the bag! I think that stemmed from the few people who let them dig in the bowl versus the ones that handed it candy. He got a little confused - but everybody seemed okay with his funny ways {I swear he wasn't an "obnoxious" candy grabber!}

Lawson was a chicken! I thought it was fitting since I thought it would be "he" that wouldn't want to trick-or-treat. He really didn't care for the door to door thing - but he loved riding in the wagon in the dark! See that candy he is holding in the picture below? That was one of the first pieces he got. He fished it out of his jack-o-lantern bag and held on to it tightly the entire night!
Lawson stripped down to nothing but his socks and shoes! He was over his chicken costume! Notice the candy he is eating?? Yes, that would be the same one he was had the death grip on! This is literally his first piece of candy EVER!
Baby Em enjoying the ride! She didn't do any trick-or-treating, but had a blast riding around. I was really shocked she stayed awake the entire time!
Carson trying to patiently wait - he was the first {and really the only} that got hacked off with the costume!Actually, the entire night was bothersome for this boy. I was really surprised - I thought he was going to love it. Wrong! He has played with all the costumes for a month now. He loved dressing up in them. Well, when the curtain went up - he wasn't going to do it {now that I think about it - hehehehe - I did the same thing in ballet and tap when I was little - I guess this is where I'm getting the pay back! Recital? I actually have to get on the stage and perform that little number in front of how many?}
Carson favorite treat - a popcorn ball {imagine that!?} and bubbles. It was interesting to see him "trying" to eat popcorn that was in the shape of a ball - hehe!
Connor - we love you! Thanks for helping with Hudson - you ROCK! This is our neighbor. He was the BIGGEST help. He would hold Hudson's hand while walking down the sidewalk, yank him back when he tried to go into people's homes and bring Carson & Laws candy when they didn't want to go to the doors. His brother, Peyton was with us briefly - he was a little "too old" in his book and explained that he was dressed up as "the cool kid" since he was wearing regular attire. I can't say enough about our neighbors. They are wonderful!I hope everybody else had a great Halloween! Hudson was up and down ALL NIGHT long! He NEVER does this. I thought at first, maybe some of the few people that were dressed up scary might have scared him. But I'm thinking now, he was just wound up tight. He would just walk up to the scariest dressed and say "trick-or-treat" and wait for that candy - Hilarious! And let me say - they don't hand out candy the way they did back in the day! Tonight, we got full on treat bags! Better treat bags than my kids gave at their birthday parties! I feel bad - next time, you guys will be getting better ones - I swear!
